Is it ironic that...

I had an old stick of gum in my purse for a few weeks. I moved it back and forth to reach my keys, lipstick, or cell phone. I should have thrown it away. In the first days of spring, I switched purses to welcome in the fresh air, etc and I was optimistic about seeing an old friend. Before the date I reach in for that tossed around stick of gum (last minute freshness) and oops, it was left in the old purse. All that time I spent moving it around, staring at it, and just having it present and it couldnt be used for fresh breath in the fresh air. Ironic or just misfortune?
