Not sure if it's Irony or just a flaw in my logic but the laugh I had was certainly the same: A very stubborn person goes to a doctor for the first time in nearly 4 years & explains they need a few things checked but are there because their anxiety has flared up & gotten pretty severe, to the point of hyperventilating, shaking & even vomiting before & after just going to the supermarket and have also had a resting heart rate of 108-120bmp for last few days & pleaded for some help. So the doctor said to the severely anxious patient, "ok, well this is only a 10 minute consultation so we will get through what we can. Have you had anxiety before and what triggers it?" So the anxiety patient, barely holding it together and put on the spot, tries to condense 30yrs of contributing factors & triggers into clear, dot point form for a stranger as they're being assessed in less than 5 minutes. And if that wasn't irony, doctor then proceeds to inform the anxiety patient that due to new policy, there is nothing they can do until further assessment from 2 other doctors, but the good news they did qualify for an extended appointment of 20 minutes which would be in 3 days earliest, doctor then suggested trying paper bags & breathing techniques to get them through until then. Puzzling...?
