Jack Shenker is seized while covering the demonstrations in Cairo. He is brutally beaten, then loaded into a van and carted off. However, the van happens to have a the son of a prominent aboard, and thus all are released. As Jack Shenker is a journalist for the Guardian, the ordeal was both a nightmare and a blessing, as it makes for a riveting, if bruising story.
