Is it ironic that...

The service had already begun and Jack adjusted his jacket and tie, as he made his way up a short flight of steps and along the narrow concrete pathway next to the side of the red brick church. As he made his way through the large timber doors and into the rear of the predominantly empty space, he quietly took a seat in one of the timber pews. It immediately struck him as strange, that such a small group was gathered in a way that seemed almost incongruous with the space. The high vaulted ceilings of the Romanesque church towered over the scene and it seemed somehow manufactured. The thought in itself was ironic, considering he was not entirely sure why he was here in the first place, other than a last ditch effort to try and make sense in his own mind, that maybe there really was nothing more to this than a Kimball's death than his number being up. Had Schaeffer made the right call?
