Is it ironic that...

Researchers at Harvard Medical School have reported that salt consumption triggers autoimmune disease in mice and certain human immune cells. Some scientists now theorize that salt consumption my lead to diseases such multiple sclerosis and psoriasis. I've had a run of tough luck recently (career, divorce, health, etc.) My list include an autoimmune disorder. I told my friend about the research, and that I would be giving up salty foods. He responded with a reference to the Morton Salt slogan. "Good Lord, when it rains, it pours." Was his response ironic? Seems so to me.
