a helicopter evacuation was yesterday postponed again because of bad weather. The MV Akademik Shokalskiy the Russian research ship was retracing the Antartic explorer Mawson's 1913 route to observe the effects of global warming. The group including - Australian climate scientists, has been stuck at Commonwealth Bay since Christmas Eve after strong winds trapped the vessel with sea ice.
