Privacy Policy

IsItIronic.com is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is used.

What we collect

We may collect the following information when you use this site:

  • Browser data: Standard information shared by your web browser (IP address, browser type, pages visited). This is used for site analytics and is not personally identifiable.
  • Submitted content: If you submit an irony example, the text you provide and optionally your email address are stored in our database.
  • Votes: When you vote on an irony example, a temporary session cookie is set on that page only to prevent duplicate voting. It contains no personal information, is not used for tracking, and expires when you close your browser. No cookies are set on any other pages.

How we use your data

  • Email addresses provided with submissions are used only to notify you when your example is published. They are not used for marketing and are not shared with third parties.
  • Submitted irony examples are published on the site for community voting, with no personal attribution unless you choose to include identifying information in your submission.
  • We use Cloudflare Turnstile for spam prevention on our submission form. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to this service.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at enquiries@isitironic.com.

Third parties

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The following external services are used on this site:

  • Google Fonts: Web fonts are loaded from Google's servers. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: Used for spam prevention on the submission form.
  • jQuery CDN: The jQuery library is loaded from a content delivery network on some pages.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect data stored on our servers, including HTTPS encryption, security headers, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
