Is it ironic that...

I usually make a long drive to and from college every other weekend or so. During the drive, I usually call one of my friends whom I go to college with to bother her and kill time. However, she finally went home for the winter break while I was finishing up exams and contacted me during her drive home. . I found the situation to be ironic since I'm the one usually contacting her while making the long drive to or from home. She argues it's not irony and that it's coincidence.
