when I (uk) and friend (Czech)in the cafe after our visit to the mission at San Luis Obispo the Waitress asked 'Where are you Guys all from? In order not to start a national security alert (Czechoslovakia at that time was behind the Iron curtain) I said we are British. 'Where' The UK 'Sorry' England 'No' What language do you speak 'American!' Was she being ironic do you think? Or am I?
