Is it ironic that...

A local news paper ran a story in which they said "It's both sad and a bit ironic. The world-renowned street artist famous for his graffiti drawings had his own murals defaced in Park City." I don't think that's ironic, but what is it? Somebody vandalized his vandalism. I can't think of the right word.
