Is it ironic that My friend dumped her 33 year old boyfriend because she wanted to date someone "young and successful" and now she is dating someone 32 and working a minimum wage job?

Is it ironic that I am careful to make no regretful decisions in life, so when I fell deep in love for the first time I promised to never let it fade away, and now four years later I regret falling so blindly, naively, and deeply in love with someone who I now recognize isn't right for me and promising myself such a thing?
