Is it ironic that...

Is it ironic that I need my SS card and birth certificate to renew my driver's license (even though I've had a DL in this state for 30 years and I've lived in the same place for 11 years), and in order to get a copy of my SS card from the gov't I need to show them my driver's license and my birth certificate? If it's not irony, what is it, because it seems odd in some way.
