Is it ironic that...

If I am working at a nightclub selling tickets and someone tries to walk past with ought paying. And I say to him you have not paid. And he says he did not realise, he said do I have to pay.. I said to him coarse not whenever you go to a nightclub you can just get in for free. He looks confused and I said I was being ironic ofcoarce you have to pay. He says no you were being sarcastic. Which one of us I right?????
